Summer Music Festival returns to Haigler Village Park Aug. 22

HAIGLER, Neb. — The public is invited to come to Haigler for a grand afternoon of music, food, drink, pie and icecream—all happening in Haigler at the Village Park, Sunday afternoon, Aug. 22, 12 noon-4 p.m. MDT. Bring your lawn chairs. Admission is free, with donations gratefully accepted. This year’s top-rated venue is brought to you by the Haigler Community Foundation and tri-state community sponsors.
The Talbott Brothers (Nick and Tyler Talbott) of Portland, Oregon, will highlight this year’s festival. Natives of Imperial, Neb., these harmony-singing siblings have come a long way from their roots in rural Nebraska. They have earned a large and growing following for their songs consisting of down-to-earth messages that prove to be prevalent in today’s world.
Billboard defines their music as “captivating with haunting brotherly harmonies.” Rolling Stone named their latest album release of ‘Ghost Talker’ as one of the top 10 songs to hear now, and defines their music as “cinematic folk-rock for open highways, widescreen skies, and the limitless reach of the American Heartland.” “ I don’t wanna run, run, run no more” goes the chorus of this slow-burning anthem, delivered by Nick and Tyler with the conviction of two road warriors who’ve logged plenty of highway miles. Blood harmonies and sibling rivalry are evident in their songwriting with lyrics pulling from the trials of everyday life and the questions we all face. “ Everyone has ghosts, whether they talk about them or not. We wanted to take off the mask and be honest with this record, hoping that what we needed to say is what people needed to hear.” The Talbott Brothers have toured throughout the United States, and in 2019 performed at the Bieroc Café in McCook to a standing ovation. Many of their performances can be viewed on YouTube.
Also performing at this year’s festival will be local band, MT Pockets—specializing in southern rock, oldies, classic rock, and country. Band members include Talli Heid, lead vocalist; Trent Nelson, lead vocalist; Ramon Starks, lead guitar; Cliff Leonhart, rhythm guitar; Rick Starks, base guitar; and Brian Shaw, drums.
Watch for fliers coming out this week. Mark your calendars to attend this summer music festival. It’s happening in Haigler—and we look forward to seeing you in Haigler for this year’s Summer Music Festival in the Park August 22.
