Legion ball begins with Herrmann Jones big sweep

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — McCook Legion baseball made a brillant 2021 season debut as Herrmann Jones hammered North Platte’s Naturals, 20-4 and 3-1, in a sweep on Saturday.

The 20-4 victory featured Jaret Neben knocking in four runs, Gabe Roberts three and Brody Graham batting in two more runs.

Roberts, Graham and Cason Waugh totaled two hits each, according to stats from gamechanger.com.

Herrmann Jones only needed two innings for this win, plating 14 runs during that second frame.

Roberts pitched 1 1/3 innings for the win while Trey Tiller recorded the final two outs.

The 3-1 victory featured a big RBI from Simon Garcia.

Nathaniel Miller and Graham teamed to pitch 2-0 Hermann Jones’ triumph.
