GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — ­Mary M. Peterson, 60, of Grand Island, formerly of McCook, Neb., passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at CHI-Health St. Francis Medical Center.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at All Faiths Funeral Home. Dan Naranjo will officiate. Casual dress is requested.

All Faiths Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

Memorials are suggested to her family for future designation.

Mary was born on July 24, 1960, daughter of Susan Gonzales at McCook.

She attended McCook Public Schools and earned her GED. Throughout her life in McCook, she was employed by various retail stores. Mary adored the customers and remembered many of the regulars that came to her check-out counter. She enjoyed bowling, pool league with her mom, cross stitch, and bingo. Many evenings were spent driving around town with her boombox beside her. Mary loved to watch her son play baseball and support any other endeavors he had.

Following her husband, Jerry’s passing in 2016, she moved closer to her son and his family.

She is survived by son, Michael (Heather) Judd of Central City; brothers, Ben (Lisa) Gonzalez of McCook and John Gonzalez of North Platte; sisters, Gina (Stacy) Donnoe of Grand Island and Katrina Cafferty of McCook; grandchildren, Haily, Evan and Justin; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Peterson; her grandparents, Pete and Mary Gonzales; and mother and step-father, Susan and Lonnie Cafferty.
