Bison tennis girls smash Ogallala Invite foes

OGALLALA, Neb. — They splashed through the Ogallala Invitational, 20-0, as McCook High’s JV girls won four more championships with only one match closer than 6-3 on Friday.
There was nothing drizzy or light about how the Bison played on this damp afternoon.
Emily Alberts and Carley Peters dropped only two games all day. They swept Scottsbluff, Alliance and North Platte all 6-0 to go with a pair of 6-1 victories at No. 2 doubles.
The No. 4 duo featuring Laci Stewart and Kora Keslin captured all but three games in their five wins. North Platte played them to a 6-2 final.
Otherwise, these Bison beat Scottsbluff, Ogallala and Alliance 6-0 besides the 6-1 conquest of Gering.
No. 3 dobles Carsyn Craig and Abbie Johnson delivered three more clean sweeps past Scottsbluff, North Platte and Gering “B”.
Ogallala and Alliance played them no closer than 6-2.
McCook’s No. 1 doubles Richa Patel and Hayden Johnson were 6-0 sweepers against Scottsbluff along with Gering “B’. Ogallala played an almost close 6-3 match, but North Platte fell 6-2 and Alliance 6-1.
Again, the final Bison record vs. Ogallala foes finished a terrific 20-0.
McCook varsity tennis girls will be busy today in the Lexington Invitational. Opening matches were set to begin at 9:30 a.m.
