Good Thursday: Bison girls take home the title!

McCOOK, Neb. — What a way to move into the holiday weekend!
The McCook High girls earned both a team title and top individual honors while outperforming six visiting teams at Thursday’s Leroy Hoehner Invitaitonal.
Final results showed it wasn’t even that closer.

McCook finished 42 points in front of top challenger Holdrege as sophomore Shanwa Wilkinson claimed Hoehner “Most Outstanding Athlete”.
Besides winning both the 200 and 400-meter runs, Wilkinson entered her first high school long jump where she captured a top four place.
McCook’s leading basketball scorer capped her day with running the anchor leg on a champion mile relay.

Wilkinson passed her Holdrege foe en route to about a three-second victory.
Junior Sierra Kotschwar was surely one of the day’s best field athletes. She hit personal bests during both her discus and shot put championships.
