M-HC girls stop Raiders; Rawlins downs Falcons

MAYWOOD, Neb. — New RPAC champ Maywood-Hayes Center didn’t suffer any letdowns while downing rival Medicine Valley, 63-35, Tuesday night.
Senior Jaycee Widener’s sizzling 26 points helped ensure the Wolves reached 19-1 this season.
Widener’s 11 points in the second quarter highlighted a 22-point M-HC performance overall as the lead reached 32-15 by intermission.
Freshman Stella Heapy scored an impressive 16 points to pace the visiting Raiders (9-7 record). They kept battling and outscored the Wolves, 13-11, during those final eight minutes.
The Raiders won’t long for another shot at their 10th win this season as they host another talented foe in Wauneta-Palisade (13-6) tonight at Curtis.

ATWOOD, Kan. — Junior Sadie Sramek’s 16 points led a balanced Rawlins County Buffaloes attack Tuesday evening.
Senior Kierstyn Domsch delivered 13 points with nine points each from Mariyah Nichols and freshman Anna Micek.
Michaela Rippe added another six points to help the Buffaloes earn their sixth win (6-8).
All five Falcons scored with junior Aimee Merrill’s eight, Bianka Tyan’s seven and freshman Katie Jarecke’s five points leading Hitchcock County (1-14).
