Archie Wickizer passed away peacefully at his home. He was a loving husband to Arlene for 62 years and an awesome father, friend and mentor to his kids. Archie was a sweet and gentle grandfather and great-grandfather to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who all the kids lovingly called Poppy. Any of them will tell you Poppy always had a silly joke or story to share with them.

Archie was a simple man, with simple plans. He was a machinist with Burlington Northern railroad for 39 years, a mechanic, a builder and fixer of anything. He never met anything mechanical he could not fix. In addition to his family, Archie’s passion was restoring and redoing old classic cars. He loved old cars; tinkering around with them, changing them up, or in many cases fixing them for one of the kids.

Archie’s other loves included; going to horse races in Nebraska, playing the lottery, antiquing/picking, and trains. Whenever Archie would play the lottery, he would always say, “If I win the lottery, we all win the lottery!” American Pickers was always his favorite show, he never missed an episode of it, nor an episode of Antiques Road Show. Dad loved collecting anything train related; pictures, tools, time tables, models. We always told him he had enough to start a train museum. Archie was just a farm boy at heart and loved all things antique and from “back in the day.”
