Bison wrestle to Buzz Matson Invite title

OVERLAIN, Kan. — McCook won five weights and a second straight tournament championship with Saturday's wrestling victory at the Buzz Matson Invitational.

Seniors Talyn Campbell (120), Alec Langan (220) and Reid Steinbeck (285) joined sophomore Alex Anthony (160) and freshman Canyon Hosick (145) in capturing first-place finishes.

Langan tied an all-time McCook High record with his 12th consecutive pin. Anthony has already set a new Bison single-season takedown record.

Senior Gavon Uehlin improved to an awesome 19-2 this season while winning the 152-pound title for host Decatur Community (Kan.) at Saturday's Buzz Matson Invitational in Oberlin, Kan.

The Bison outscored 10 teams to follow their triangular sweep at Oberlin Thursday night along with a Dundy County-Stratton team victory on Jan. 9.
