McCOOK, Neb. — Jamie Lynn Jumps, age 41, of McCook, passed away following her battle with cancer on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021, at her home in McCook.

Jamie was born April 6, 1979, in Denver, Colo., to parents, James LeRoy Jumps Jr. and Leslie Dawn (Elspas) Chapman. Jamie later relocated to McCook where she attended school. In 2000 Jamie obtained her GED from McCook Community College.

Jamie loved watching Cruise Night in McCook. She also enjoyed spending time at the lake, going to concerts, working puzzles and singing karaoke. She was the assistant manager at McDonalds and the manager of the east Caseys, both in McCook. Jamie was attending college in hopes of becoming an EMT until her health failed.

Jamie was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents.

Those left to celebrate her life include her father, James (Jill) Jumps, Jr. of McCook; mother, Leslie (Jerry) Chapman of Aurora, Colo.; children, Wesley Geihsler of Zapta, Texas, James Geihsler, Jr. of Oberlin, Kan., Mercedese and Monica Geihsler both of Curtis, Neb., Maria Zavaleta of SanNella, Calif., and Aunna Essex of McCook; step-daughter, Mickey Kriegh of Oberlin; sisters, Dawn Jumps of Holdrege, Neb., and Katie Chapmen of Aurora, Colo.; step-brother, Evan Bartels of Aurora, Colo.; step-sisters, Audra, Annie and Emily Bartels, all of Aurora; seven grandchildren, Kyler, Jordy, Raiden, Autumn, Bryer, William and Lea; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021, at McCook Christian Church with Pastor Clark Bates officiating.

Inurnment will take place in the Culbertson Cemetery at a later date.
