TRENTON, Neb. — Just win, baby, was the Dundy County-Stratton girls’ gameplan again Tuesday night despite missing top scorer McKinzie Baney.

Freshman Alyssa Schneider stepped up to net 16 points while four other Tigers tallied eight or more during a 53-28 victory over Hitchcock County.

Junior Kailee Kolbet was terrific for the host Falcons (1-9), putting in a game-high 17 points as she made six of 12 shots.

However, the typical DC-S Tiger defense started strong with a 15-3 first quarter.

The Tigers kept hitting shots and holding down their hosts while building a 32-9 advantage by intermission.

Baney suffered an injury recently, so classmate Maggie Lutz stepped up to make two of three from beyond the arc. Lutz totaled 13 points an awesome 18 rebounds.

Junior Ava Petersen’s also making the most of her more prolific varsity role.

Peterson drilled a trio of three-pointers en route to scoring eight points.

Mica Donohue netted another eight besides senior Haylee Davis’ nine points.

Junior Lindsey Rippen hustled to seven rebounds for Hitchcock with Byanke Tyan totaling five.
