Pinpoint expands fiber-to-home internet service to three new towns

CAMBRIDGE, NE — Pinpoint (Pinpoint Communications, Inc.) announced today that thru the CARES ACT funding from the Nebraska Department of Economic Development, they have expanded their footprint to serve more underserved locations in rural Nebraska and continues to deliver on its commitment to deliver fast, reliable fiber-optic broadband internet to underserved rural southwestern Nebraska communities in the year of 2020.

With support from the 2020 Nebraska Remote Access Grant, Pinpoint constructed fiber-to-thepremises (FTTP) networks that connect homes and businesses in communities of Alma, Beaver City, and Republican City. The first customers within the communities were connected to Pinpoint Fiber-Optic service as of December 22, 2020.

With the addition of the new service areas to Alma, Beaver City, Republican City, and select surrounding areas, Pinpoint is proud to provide availability of fiber connectivity to roughly 5,500 total homes and businesses access to their world class fiber-optic network by the time the project is complete. Currently, Pinpoint owns and operates all-fiber networks in four Southwest Nebraska communities that include Cambridge, Bartley, Gothenburg, Oxford, and has begun construction of an all-fiber network in McCook Nebraska with plans to continue growing into more rural communities in the coming years.
