OBERLIN, Kan. — Matthew James Finnesy, 90, died Sunday (Dec. 20, 2020), at Sheridan County Long Term Care in Hoxie, Kan.
He was born to Joe and Fern Finnesy on Sept. 24, 1930. He graduated from Natoma High School in 1948, and lived in Selden, Kan. He married Aldea Fay Finnesy. He was a tool pusher for Murfin Drilling Company and a farmer.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Selden and the Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Aldea Fay Finnesy; daughter, Virginia Smith; parents, Joe and Fern Finnesy; and brother, Dennis.
Survivors include his children, Marjorie Byrd, Dan Finnesy and wife, Cindy, Colleen Barry, Mike Finnesy and wife, Suzie, John Finnesy and wife, Susan and Steve Finnesy; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Ann (Ed) and Wanda Meyer, and brother, Joe Finnesy.
Visitation is Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, 9:30 to 11 a.m., before the graveside service, at Pauls Funeral Home, Selden.
Graveside services are Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, 11 a.m., at the Selden Cemtery, Selden, Kan.
