Wolves, Bison lead Omaha all-state honorees

OMAHA, Neb. — Check out all the area volleyball players who earned Omaha World-Herald all-state honors for their efforts through this fall season.
FIRST TEAM
As expected, Maywood-Hayes Center senior Jaycee Widener made the Class D-2 all-state first team at a hitter position.
The Wolves won RPAC, subdistrict and district championships during their 28-match win streak. They also swept Mullen in their historic first state tournament to reach the D-2 semifinals.
The 5’10” Widenerr will be playing for McCook Community College next fall.
SECOND TEAM
Wauneta-Palisade powerhouse Haylee Sandman made the D-2 second team during a strong 16-10 Bronco season.
Remember, Wauneta-Palisade was the only opponent to win even a set from M-HC before those Wolves reached staet semifinal play.
