City buys new power cots for ambulances
McCOOK, Neb. — The McCook City Council adopted a resolution Monday night at the regular meeting so it could pay for three new cots purchased for city ambulances.
On Oct. 5, the McCook City Council voted unanimously to award the bid for new ambulance power cots to Stryker, who submitted the lowest responsible bid of $140,740. When city staff attempted to make the payment to Stryker, they were told that the payment would have to issued in two parts: one payment of $4,000 to a third party vendor for installation and the remainder to Stryker. So although the bid amount remains the same, it needs to be issued in two parts, according to city staff.
The resolution the council approved Monday night from the consent agenda clarifies that.
Stryker did not make it clear in their bid that two payments need to be issued, although the city’s bid specifications does allow installation to be done by a third party vendor.
