McCook 'C' football team wins finale, 63-29
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — The McCook C football team capped a 5-2 season with a 63-29 win over the Grand Island Northwest reserve team Monday night.
Coach Bill Ramsay offered these final remarks about the 2020 season:
“This has been a fun year, all of the players have been very coachable, worked hard and have shown tons of improvement throughout the season.
Offensively we moved the ball very well, our offensive linemen controlled the line of scrimmage and made some great blocks down field that led to some big runs.
Our backs have done a nice job all year of hitting the hole hard and using their speed for some big runs.
Defensively we allowed some yards and gave up a couple of big pass plays but for the most part stopped the Viking offence.
We created a couple of fumbles that led to some short fields which we took advantage of. I felt as the game progressed we did a much better job of stopping the quarterback on the edges.”
