More than 50 races blaze around McCook Speedway

McCOOK, Neb. — The McCook Mini-Speedway finished a super double day of racing on Saturday with regular action plus make-ups from a COVID-19 cancellation earlier this spring.

Racing promoter Starla Werkmeister provided information and watch for more photos in the Gazette this week:

"We had excellent weather for a full day of races with48 go karts showed up for a total of 51 races - that's a whole lot of laps turned!

Joseph Cooper from North Platte found the groove and took a complete sweep - winning all four of his Heat races and both features in the JR. 2 division.

Our next race is our first two day show. We will have a complete show on Saturday, August 1 another full show Sunday, August 2 and then top the day Sunday with a final race. L

ine Up will depend on the average from both feature races. Cash prizes to the top three finishers and the top finisher will walk away with four-feet-plus tall trophy!
