Highway work to begin Monday east of Oxford

McCOOK, Neb. -- Weather permitting, work will begin July 6, north of Oxford on N-46, from Reference Post 7.96 to Reference Post 11.91, and on US-136, east of Oxford, from Reference Post 10.16 to Reference Post 22.40, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

 Vontz Paving, Inc., of Hastings, Nebraska, has the $4,144,603 contract.  Work includes bridge repair, culvert installation, milling, asphalt overlay, guardrail replacement and seeding.  Traffic will be maintained with lane restrictions, flaggers and temporary traffic signals.  During the first phase of construction, there will be 10-foot width restriction for the bridge over Dry Creek in the Village of Oxford.  Anticipated completion is late summer 2021.

 Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near construction zones and to buckle up.
