RIDGEFIELD, Wash. — Beverly Ann (Lenz) Caywood passed away June 3, 2020, in Ridgefield.
Beverly was born July 25, 1936, to parents, Grace Evelyn (Anderson) and Albert Len in Frontier County, Neb. She was a graduate of the University School of Agriculture in Curtis, Neb. She lived on a farm outside of Curtis and later moved in town, until she moved to Colorado Springs, Colo., with her two daughters in 1971.
After graduating from high school, she married Orval J. Magee in 1954 and raised two daughters in Curtis. After divorcing Orval in 1971, she moved to Colorado Springs, where she met and married Jim Caywood; they later divorced in 1982.
Beverly was a strong, independent woman who wore many hats. She owned and operated the Aggie Inn in Curtis with her father (Albert Lenz) in the late 1960s to early 1970s. As a single mom, she managed the Hof’s Hut restaurant in Colorado Springs and later went to work for Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. In the 1980s, she worked as a interior decorator in Portland, Ore., Boise, Idaho and Seattle, Wash. Later in life, she worked as a companion for the Coles in New York City and for Harrison Leppo in San Francisco, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Grace and Albert Lenz and by her grandson, Cole Johnson.
She is survived by daughters, Denise and Becky Magee and son-in-law, Tom Keller; grandchildren, Brian Pea, Noah Johnson and Matthew Keller; and great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Jayden and Audrenia.
Due to Covid-19, there will be no service at this time.
Beverly has requested she be cremated and her ashes scattered in the Multnomah Gorge area of Oregon.
