BILLINGS, Montana -- Whatever is "in the water" in McCook, Neb., that spawned leaders like George Norris, Ralph Brooks and Ben Nelson must have flowed down the Republican River to Bartley, where it whetted the political appetite of a couple who now serve in both legislative branches of the Montana Legislature.

Roger Webb, 67, has served District 23 in the Montana State Senate since 2012, while his wife of 48 years, Peggy Webb, has represented District 43 in the Montana State House of Representatives since her election in 2016.

Peggy is the daughter of the late Harold Moore and the late Marion Moore Copeland.

Roger is the son of the late Jim and Shirley Webb of Bartley, known for founding Webb Water Service of Bartley and Trenton.

Both Republicans, the couple are 1971 graduates of Bartley High School which has since been consolidated into Southwest High School.

They have two grown daughters and four grandchildren.
