Fellow firefighters and other first responders offer a final salute to Donny Lepper at funeral services at St. Patrick Catholic Church in McCook on Saturday, and 30 or more firetrucks and other emergency vehicles formed a funeral procession to Indianola to his final resting place. A 23-year veteran of the Indianola Fire Department, Lepper died Sunday morning, Feb. 23, after fighting a grass fire near Indianola a few hours earlier. Lepper was a beloved member of the Indianola community, a long-time employee of Lords Hardware and Furniture, active in community sports and planning community events.
