Soup-R-Bowl competition expected to be fierce
McCOOK, Neb. -- The competition promises to be fierce for the McCook Rotary Club’s 5th annual Soup-R-Bowl Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Keystone Business Center in McCook. The free-will donations of cash and canned goods will benefit the McCook Food Pantry.
According to organizer Steve Rasmusen, 15 businesses will compete for the highly coveted “People’s Choice” award.
On the menu is: McCook Art Guild with Chili; Cedar Inn with Vegetable Medley; High Plains Radio with Beef Stew; MNB Insurance with Beef, Barley & Mushroom; Horizon Bank with Cheesy Ham Chowder; Community Hospital with Kielbasa and Potato; Acme Printing & Design with Chicken & Dumplings; McCook Gazette with Beef Stew; Accent’s Etc. with Vegetable Soup; Browns Shoe Fit with Chicken & Gnocchi; MNB Bank with Buffalo Chicken Chili; McCook Chamber with Sausage and Potato; McCook EDC with Potato Soup; McCook High School with Cheeseburger Chowder; and Home Again Senior Care with White Chicken Chili.
Rasmusen encouraged everyone to come out and sample each type of soup, vote for their favorite, and help to support the pantry.
