Longhorns advance to finals, Wolves lose finale
BRADY, Neb. — Chase County worked through a slow start and knocked Cozad out, 59-38, of the C1-11 subdistrict semifinals Tuesday night.
The Longhorns (16-4 record) only led 14-13 after one quarter against a 5-17 Haymaker team that only scored 18 points all game against McCook last week.
However, coach Chris Bartel’s team steadily built their lead to 25-20 before really breaking away during that second half.
No individual stats were obtained.
Chase County will now face Cozad’s No. 1 rival — the Gothenburg Swedes — for C 1-11 top honors Thursday evening.
The Swedes (7-13) surprised Hershey, 44-39, in Tuesday’s other semifinal game. Hershey finished 12-10 overall.
