INDIANOLA, Neb. - Donald “Donny” E. Lepper, age 46 of Indianola, Nebraska passed away at Community Hospital of McCook on Sunday Feb. 23, 2020 due to a Line of Duty Fire Call. He was born in McCook on January 19, 1974 to Robert and Barbara (Titman) Lepper. Donny attended and graduated from Republican Valley High School in 1993.

Donny spent 25 years working for Lord’s of Indianola and 24 years as a member of the Indianola Fire and Rescue Squad. He enjoyed playing pool, slow pitch softball, and the occasional card game of Pitch. He actively assisted with the Old Settlers Parade and the Fourth of July Fireworks display. He was a member of the St. Catherine’s Catholic Church of Indianola. Through all of this, Donny remained active in his community and made many close friends and acquaintances.

In 1997, he married Tammy Savacool and to this union two sons were born; Andrew and Nicholas.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Robert and Barbara; stepmother: Becky Lepper; uncles: Joe and Tom Titman; Bill Lepper; aunts: Annette Snyder, Marilyn Sladley, Carrol Matson and Betty Harper; great nephew: Jayce Helms.

Donny is survived by his 2 sons: Andrew and Nicholas of Indianola; 2 brothers: Dewayne Lepper of McCook, Cliff “Corky” Lepper of Redondo Beach, CA; stepsister: Laurie Brown and stepbrother: Wayne Piper both of McCook, along with numerous aunts and uncles.

Funeral of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in McCook, NE on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Greg Pawloski. Rosary will be recited on Friday, February 28, 2020 at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel of McCook at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 a.m until after the rosary. An Honor Guard will be present 24 hours until services by the local fire departments and the Nebraska In line of Duty Teams. Friends may leave online condolences at herrmannfh.com. Memorials may be left in Donny’s name to the Indianola Fire and Rescue Department in lieu of flowers. Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
