Tigers are roaring back to RPAC title game

TRENTON, Neb. — Junior McKinzie Baney scored 24 points while Dundy County-Stratton held Maywood-Hayes Center to 23 percent shooting in a 55-39 RPAC West Finals win Thursday night.
Experience clearly fueled the Tigers as they can repeat their RPAC championship Saturday night in McCook Community College’s Graff Events Center.
DC-S will take on Cambridge (9-6) at 6 p.m. in a repeat of last year’s title game.
M-HC (15-3) appeared ready to earn its title shot, but fell behind 15-4 against that feisty Tiger defense and could never rally.
The Tigers took a 25-12 lead into halftime which reached 35-230 through three periods.
M-HC will play for Southern Valley to decide the third-place RPAC finisher earlier on Saturday.
Though DC-S won last year’s tourney, they lost 53-43 at home to Cambridge last week.
