'Riders wrap up tourney win over Raiders

BARTLEY, Neb. — Senior Johanna Sughroue’s first three-pointer of her high school career was one of many Southwest highlights during a 39-31 RPAC tourney win over Medicine Valley Thursday.

Freshman Bailey Truksa got the Roughriders rolling with eight of her 10 points in the first quarter.

Classmate Caylin Barnett added 10 and steady senior Jadyn Brooks scored seven.

They had just enough to fight off an always determined Medicine Valley eam as junior Jessa Bailey drilled five three-pointers after intermission.

Junior Acelyn Klein scored another 14 to keep the Raiders close. Both teams have five wins. SOUTHWEST (39) — Bailey Truksa 10 points, Caylin Barnett 10, Jadyn Brooks 7, Bailey Clements 5, Johanna Sughroue 3, Bailey Oltmer 2. Three-pointers: Sughroue, Clements.

MED VALLEY (31) — Jessa Bailey 15 points, Acelyn Klein 14, Kaylyn Roblee 2.
