OLYMPIA, Wash. — Bernard R. Frakes, age 80, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020, at Providence St. Peter’s Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was born in rural Dyke Community in Hitchcock County, Neb., to Raymond W. and Florence E. (Nealeigh) Frakes on June 4, 1939.

He graduated from Trenton High School in 1956, then from McCook Junior College in 1958. He went on to attend the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, graduating with honors, and then finishing with a Master’s Degree in civil engineering.

He started employment with Boeing Aircraft in 1962 and remained with Boeing, retiring in 2016.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister-in-law, Sharon Frakes.

He is survived by siblings, Rachel (Wayne) Hidy of McCook, Neb., Geraldine (Chuck) Long of Topeka, Kan., and Leland (Roberta) Frakes of Trenton, Neb.

Cremation was chosen and a private family inurnment will be at a later date.
