Schmick's Market announces sale
McCOOK, Neb. — The Schmick family has announced the sale of Schmick’s Market in McCook to Gary’s Superfoods of North Platte and Broken Bow.
A Facebook posting today reads as follows:
“McCook, Neb., changed the trajectory of the Schmick family when we came here in 2005 to chase a dream of owning our own grocery store! We all moved into one house and worked our tails off to bring the best hometown, family owned grocery we could to the folks of McCook. You have supported our family to a far greater extent then we ever imagined and we could not be more grateful!
“To our friends, family and customers: We have some bitter sweet news, but extremely exciting news for our store and for the city of McCook! We have made a deal with Gary's Super Foods in North Platte, Neb. to buy Schmicks Market here in town!! We are extremely excited to pass the reins to a wonderful operator and friend. The Schmick's plan to move to Lincoln to continue running the two stores there! Thank you McCook for your patronage and how accepting you have been to our family.
