Trojans finish tough visit to tourney

RAVENNA, Neb. — Cambridge High’s basketball teams collided with four tough opponents during the Ravenna Holiday Tournament last weekend.

Senior Korynn Clason scored 24 points in both contests, but the Trojan girls fell 48-41 to Anselmo-Merna on Friday and 44-34 vs. Ravenna Saturday evening.

Sophomore Autumn Deterding’s 10 rebounds were another highlight in that close contest with A-M. The Trojans nearly erased a 31-18 halftime deficit.

Clason totaled a team-high 12 rebounds.

Senior Cali Gunderson added six points.

The Ravenna contest featured Clason’s eight rebounds and six steals besides 24 points. No other Trojan scored more than three.

Senior Paxton Ross scored 20 points and Zion Moyer netted 19 in a 70-65 boys’ loss to Ravenna.

Ross added eight rebounds and four assists.

The Trojans fell 76-56 to Anselmo-Merna despite 17 points from junior Brandon McArthur.

Senior Deryk Huxoll and Brandon Horwart netted nine points apiece.

Sophomore Dahlton Wood collected a team-high nine rebounds.
