'Bison Days' on school board agenda
McCOOK, Neb. — The McCook Board of Education will hear a presentation on “Bison Days,” at the regular meeting Monday, 6:30 p.m., at the conference room at the McCook Junior High.
There are no regular agenda items requiring a vote, except for the possibility of a resignation if one is tendered by Monday’s meeting.
Ronda Graff, Cindy Huff and Pam Wolford will give the presentation on “Bison Days.” The two-day event at the high school first began last year and will occur again this year. Local community members and business owners serve as teachers for “mini classes” that students sign up for, such as cooking, self-defense, home improvement, auto detailing, aviation and more.
It was designed as a break for students from the winter doldrums and a way for them to learn some life skills, spark interest in a new hobby or career and to engage the high school with the community.
Other items include:
- a presentation about the one-act play from drama teacher, Amanda Davidson;
The meeting will conclude with a closed negotiations session with the McCook Education Association.
