Lied Center to bring "Night of Broadway" to Fox Theater on Monday
McCOOK, Neb. -- The Lied’s Night of Broadway will be performed at the Fox Theater in McCook on Monday, Oct. 21st at 7 pm.
The concert is part of the Lied Center’s Arts Across Nebraska program, presented free of charge thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Richard P. Kimmel and Laurine Kimmel Charitable Foundation.
The Lied’s Night of Broadway is a cabaret performance featuring hit songs from the Lied Center’s 30th anniversary season. Audiences will enjoy treasured gems from the golden age of musicals as well as more contemporary productions, including Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “The Phantom of the Opera,” Gershwin’s “An American in Paris,” “Beautiful: the Carole King Musical” and Sara Barelilles’s sensational new musical “Waitress.”
The evening will be directed and hosted by Alisa Belflower, Faculty in Music Theatre Studies at the University of Nebraska—Lincoln. The live performances will feature performances by a troupe of award-winning singers from the University’s Glenn Korff School of Music. See and hear the stars of tomorrow performing some of the most beloved songs from musical theatre today.
The performance is made possible through the ongoing partnership of the Lied Center for Performing Arts and the Richard P. Kimmel and Laurine Kimmel Charitable Foundation. Both organizations have dedicated years and countless resources to enhancing the quality of life in Nebraska through arts, education and entertainment. The president of the Kimmel Charitable Foundation is Ernie Weyeneth, a McCook-area native with a deep commitment to his roots. For years Weyeneth has ensured McCook receives top artistic and educational programs, including the Arts Across Nebraska offerings from the Lied Center for Performing Arts.

Arts Across Nebraska connects Lied artists to Nebraska communities throughout the state. The program provides up to three tours every year, which are offered to presenting partners and communities in the state at an affordable rate. The Lied Center is responsible for contracting with the artist(s), routing and providing technical assistance on tour. The artist(s) usually provide a public performance, and/or student matinee or workshop in each community.
