Hot summer nights
MNB Bank is presenting the Brett Alan Band, above, for its first free Hot Summer Nights concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1 in McCook’s Norris Park. The McCook Community Chest will serve a free-will donation meal, and the Southwest Nebraska Habitat for Humanity will serve ice cream for a free-will donation. Corn hole, yard games and kids activities, including a coloring contest hosted by the Sen. George Norris House are planned. The Big Time Grain Co., below, a duo of farm-raised brothers from western Kansas, will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15. A variety of food truck vendors will be available at the park and the Discovery Center of Southwest Nebraska will be hosting a special activity for children.
