Building tops $20M for 2019

McCOOK, Neb. — New building in Red Willow County and the City of McCook has reached over $20 million for the year.

This was bolstered by last month’s $960,300 in commercial remodels (Black Hills Energy new location), according to the city’s building permit report for June. This construction, outside of city limits, includes new offices.

Another project inside city limits was commercial footings/stemwall at $3,000.

Total new building, remodeling, plumbing and mechanical, for residential and commercial, in and outside of city limits, totaled $1.88 million for the month of June.

Projects started and/or completed in June were:

-- Garages, $125,665: 36 by 35, $50,000; 24 by 30, $27,300; 28 by 36, outside city limits, $15,000; and post frame garage, $33,000.

-- New residential remodel, $61,248: egress window, $4,678; bedroom/ bath addition, $50,000; egress window, $6,570.

-- New commercial plumbing (outside city limits): $28,000

-- Two commercial new signs: $4,750

-- Chainlink fence $1,500

-- Roofing/decks: $4,605: front and back deck, outside city limits, $4,000; two repair shingles, $605.

Total new building inside city limits for the year is $20.29 million. Building outside city limits for the year is $2.15 million.

Total fees the city has collected for the year is $27,756.36
