Marlys Joan (Nitsch) Henrickson
Sept. 14, 1932 - Feb. 5, 1968
McCOOK, Neb. — Marlys Joan (Nitsch) Henrickson was born Sept. 14, 1932, at McCook, Neb., to parents, Henry and Berniece (Moulton) Nitsch.
She was united in marriage in May of 1950 to Charley Brown at the White Church in Hayes County. To this union two daughters, Carolyn and Dixie, were born. The family made their home in North Platte, Neb., later moving to Denver and eventually making their home in Sun Valley, Calif.
Marlys eventually married Fred Henrickson. A short time after their marriage, Marlys suffered a heart attack and passed away on Feb. 5, 1968, at the young age of 35. Her daughter, Carolyn returned to Nebraska to live with her aunt and uncle and Dixie remained in California.
Her daughter, Carolyn, has longed for her body to be returned to her beloved home of Nebraska. That dream has finally come true and Marlys will be privately interred at Memorial Park Cemetery on Friday, April 19, 2019, where she will be close to family.
Her loved ones passing away before her were her parents, Henry and Berniece Nitsch; and after her death were her husband, Fred Henrickson; daughter, Dixie Geishler; and granddaughter, Kimberlee Brenning.
Her loved ones remaining include her daughter, Carolyn and husband, Mike Brenning of Culbertson, Neb.; grandchildren, Chad (Laurie) Brenning of Culbertson, Scott (Michelle) Henrickson of Lincoln, Neb., and Brenda (Geoff) Gillen of McCook; 10 great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Marlys, Hannah, Garrett, Matthew, Trevor, Brendan, Achelle, Jackson, and Ellie; and numerous family.
