Fancy dresses, fancy hair and lots of tuxes were seen Saturday night at McCook High School’s junior/senior prom, with this year’s theme, “Starry Night.” Prom sponsors Jon Graff and Lori Jumps and junior class sponsors, Tara Peterman and Josh Kershaw, helped coordinate the event, that started with promenade in the high school gym, followed by the dance at the LIFT building next door. There were about 200 couples, Graff estimated, a veteran with Jumps of prom dances for several years now. This year, Graff’s own children were at the dance and when asked how they reacted to that, Graff said, “They pretty much ignored me and did their own thing.” Waiting for the promenade are Caden Bortner, from left, Erik Graff, Macy Hill, Delaney Jumps, Riley Hansen, Drew Daum, Hunter Cunningham, Sidney Stewart, Kassidy Michaelis and Sid Wier.
