MCC volleyball alum returning to court

A former McCook Community College volleyball player -- who has taken a year off from playing – is heading back to the court in New Mexico.
Dylann Bylund, a 2018 MCC graduate and native of Colorado Springs, has signed on to play volleyball at University of the Southwest in Hobbs, N.M., after spending a year pursuing her degree in physical therapy.
Bylund is a 5-8 setter who finished her MCC career in 2017 having made the all-Region IX team. She had 676 assists and 227 kills during her sophomore season along with 30 aces, 293 digs and 60 blocks.
As a captain she helped lead th,e school to its first 20-win season in more than 30 years.
She was also a highly decorated student, being named the 2018 winner of the Presidential Award for outstanding academic, leadership, and service qualities within the college and community.
She worked as a resident assistant in Brooks Hall, was president of the Eta Omicron chapter of Phi Theta Kappa.
She was an Academic All-USA scholarship winner as well as the lone two-year student in the state to win the Nebraska New Century Transfer Pathway Scholarship.
