MCC women win on Bison alum's walkoff HR

McCOOK, Neb. — The McCook Community College softball team came from down 4-0 to push five runs in the final two innings to salvage a split with Lamar Community College Wednesday in dramatic fashion with a three-run walk-off home run. Lamar won the first game 5-3 with the Lady Indians coming back to win the second game 5-4.
Trailing 4-2 in the bottom of the seventh inning of Game two, it was three sophomores who provided all the offensive spark -- including a pair of pinch “hits” to start off the inning. Isabel Serna (Roy, Utah) led off with a double and Abby Kalinski (McCook) was hit by a pitch to set the stage for Taylor Ford (McCook.)
After Ford missed the bunt attempt, Lamar committed an error to move pinch runners Sydney McArthur (Washington, Utah) and Brooklyn Jensen (West Valley City, Utah) both into scoring position.
With the bunt called off, Ford homered on the next pitch to left field to end the game.
“Taylor has been working hard and had a great game,” MCC coach Josh Barnes said. “That is a moment as a player you don’t forget.”
