SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. — Foul trouble took some fuel from McCook’s 21-point first quarter as Scottsbluff girls rallied for the 57-50 win Friday night.
Senior Mackenzie Smith and sophomore Liviya Wier each scored six early points to help build an early 21-13 lead.
Yet Scottsbluff controlled the final three quarters while both teams finished their regular seasons at 10-10.
“We played well enough to win,” Bison coach Amy Scheil said on a post-game radio interview.
McCook was aiming for a sweep of the road trip after beating Gering Thursday night.
McCOOK (50) — Mackenzie Smith 23 points, Liviya Wier 12, Peyton Doucet 5, Tiara Matson 4, Jayceea Hanson 2, Emma Kehler 2.
