TRENTON, Neb.— Michael Craig Wright, age 55, of Trenton, passed away at his home on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018.

He was born in McCook, Neb., on Dec. 24, 1962, to Robert James and Donna Gayle (Moss) Wright. The family moved to Trenton, where Michael attended and graduated from Trenton High School in 1981. He continued his education at Central Community College in North Platte in auto mechanics.

He joined the U.S. Marine Corps on Aug. 24, 1983, serving until Aug. 23, 1989, when he was Honorably discharged. He joined the U.S. Army on Nov. 29, 1990, serving in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, being Honorably discharged on July 15, 1991.

Michael married Leslie Roos on April 21, 1981, to this union, Devin and Caitlyn, were born. On July 28, 1993 he wed Lisa Draper, daughters, Miranda, Hannah and Haylee were born. Michael lived in California and Colorado, before calling Trenton home.

He worked in the oil fields and tinkered with and restored cars. He was an accomplished lapidary (rock hound), making jewelry. He was a member of the VFW in Trenton. His pride and joy was spending time with grandchildren, watching cartoons along with other family activities.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna; brother, Harold “Chip” Wight; and niece, Jill Wright.

Michael is survived by his children, Miranda (Adam) Gade of Trenton, Devin Wright of Grand Island, Neb., Caitlyn (Shane) Sanders of Crawford, Neb., Hannah Draper and Haylee Draper, both of Maysville, Mo.; father, Robert (Laurel) Wright of Pueblo, Colo.; eight brothers, Robert (Alice) Wright of Trenton, Mark (Melissa) Wright of Colorado Springs, David (Joni) Wright of Trenton, Bryon (Chris) Wright, Eric Wright, and Bill (Amanda) Wright, all of Pueblo, Chris Wright of Denver, Colo., and Jeff Wright of Pueblo; and five grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. to greet friends.

A memorial service will be at the Congregational Church on Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, at 2 p.m., with Pastor Jean Miller officiating. Inurnment will be in the Trenton Cemetery with Military Honors conducted at graveside.
