CAMBRIDGE, Neb. — Margaret Amann, age 97, of Cambridge, passed away Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, at the Cambridge Manor.

She was born on Oct. 2, 1921, to Jesse E. and Lotta A. (Mathews) Dutcher near McCook, Neb., in Red Willow County. On Feb. 24, 1946, she married Max Amann in McCook. The couple celebrated 52 years of marriage. To this union four daughters were born: Charlotte, Sharon, Judy and Penny. Max preceded her in death on July 11, 1998. The couple farmed all their lives, moving to the Cambridge area in 1949. She remained in her home with great care givers until health concerns made it difficult to stay in her home. She moved to the Cambridge Manor in July of this year.

Margaret was an excellent seamstress sewing many of the girl’s clothes. She was a quilter and a very good cook. She was always baking, cooking and making candies. Margaret was wanting the girls to bake cookies last week for the Trick or Treaters that might come to the Manor. She was a life member of the United Methodist Church and the Women’s Fellowship.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Max; grandson, Jesse Jones; great-granddaughter, Jhalia Mayberry; and brother, Marvin Dutcher.

Margaret is survived by her four daughters: Charlotte and husband, Steve Schliening of Red Feather Lakes, Colo.; Sharon and husband, Doug Pearson of Cambridge; Judy and husband, John Jones of Trenton, Neb.; and Penny and husband, Scott Monroe of Firestone, Colo.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and aunt; Ruth Sughroue of Indianola, Neb.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018, at 10 a.m., at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Cambridge with Pastor David Kim.

Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery of Cambridge.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov.6, 2018, from 10 a.m., to 7 p.m. Casket will be closed at the church.
