71 years of concert-going

Wednesday, October 3, 2018
Talk about long-time loyalty! When it comes to support of the McCook Community Concert Association, Ray Haag of rural Red Willow Country has no equal, at least no one who has come forward up to this time. Ray, shown with his wife, Myrna, came to his first McCook concert 71 years ago when he was a student at what was then called McCook Junior College. Don't tell Myrna, who is much younger than her 89-year-old husband, but Ray had a date for his debut concert attendance. According to informed sources, Ray escorted a girl from across the border, Mary Ann Boyle of Atwood, to the concert on that starry night in 1947.
