McCook Cardinals have right stuff in 10-0 win
McCOOK, Neb. — Oliver Corbett had all the right stuff on Monday for McCook Cardinals 10-and-under baseball team, allowing zero runs and besting SCNBL Epic Team Camp by a score of 10-0 Monday evening.
Corbett is the brother of teammate Calvin Corbett, who has recently began his battle against a rare form of cancer.
Oliver Corbett led things off on the pitcher’s mound for McCook Cardinals 10U. He lasted three innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out seven.
Cason Waugh went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead McCook Cardinals 10U in hits.
McCook Cardinals 10U didn’t commit a single error in the field.
Trenton Raile had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
McCook Cardinals 10U also stole 11 bases during the game as four players stole more than one.
Simon Garcia led the way with two.
The Cardinals have delivered an outstanding 2018 season and also competed in their recent state tournament where they won one game.
