Bison Football Camp kicks off Monday

McCook Bison alums Zach Schlager (above) and Hunter Hays will be part of the 60th annual Shrine Bowl of Nebraska football game on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. on Foster Field at the University of Nebraska-Kearney’s Ron and Carol Cope Stadium. Tickets are still available at $12 for general admission and $7 for students. All-staters Schlager and Hays will be part of the 2018 South team with Aurora’s Kyle Peterson coaching. Game details will appear in Monday’s Gazette.

McCOOK, Neb. — A final reminder that McCook Bison football team will begin its annual Championship Football Camp on Monday.

What is needed: shorts or sweat pants, Tee shirt, shoes (cleats or shoes).

Where: Practice field directly behind McCook High School

Schedule: June 4-7 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Registration is open until June 4.

Fee: $50 which incluescoaching and a camp football.)

Forms may be picked up at the Sports Shoppe, McCook High School, and have bent sent to the children’s schools.

The camp will feature many of the players that helped McCook reach the playoffs 18 straight years.

This camp is designed to be for grades fourth through eighth this fall.

Boys and girls are welcome. This is a non-contact camp.

All campers will be taught beginning fundamentals of playing football. No equipment is necessary. Cleats are not needed.

Many of the current and past Bison players will be there to make this a fun experience.

McCook Bison Football is coming off another storied season. In 2017, the Bison football team finished the season 9-2and brought home the Class B7 district trophy.

The current and past players take pride in their program and they would like to pass this on to the next generation of football players.

All campers will be taught beginning fundamentals of playing football.
