H-J strikes late to beat Bow

Herrmann-Jones Bison’s 14-and-under baseball snatched the lead late in a 9-5 victory over Broken Bow on Thursday.

The game was tied 3-3 when Carter Larson grounded out, scoring one run.

Herrmann-Jones Bison 14U took the lead for good with four runs in the fourth inning.

Keynan Gaston singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run, Jacob Gomez-Wilson singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, and Herrmann-Jones Bison 14U scored one run on a stolen base.

Adam Dugger pitched Herrmann-Jones Bison 14U to victory.

He went four innings, allowing three runs on seven hits and striking out four.

Alex Anthony threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Anthony recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Herrmann-Jones Bison 14U.

Dugger, Gaston, Larson, Lucas Gomez-Wilson, Anthony, Taylor Jacobs, and Gomez-Wilson each collected one hit to lead Herrmann-Jones Bison 14U.

Herrmann-Jones Bison 14U didn’t commit a single error in the field. Gomez-Wilson had the most chances in the field with six.

Herrmann-Jones Bison 14U stole six bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Gomez-Wilson led the way with two. Bow totaled nine hits.
