Eagles, Trojan take first at Bertrand Invite
BERTRAND, Neb. — Southern Valley and Cambridge’s Preston Carbaugh were champions of the Bertrand Golf Invitational Thursday.
Carbaugh shot a super par-72 to win the invididual title race by seven strokes over Loomis’ Drew Lauby (79).
Meanwhile, Southern Valley’s 346 finished 15 strokes better than Loomis (361) for the team title.
Spencer Brown (fourth, 82), Carter Brown (sixth, 85) and Ryder Lewis (seventh, 86) were top 10 placers while Chaston Burgeson (14th, 93) completed that winning Eagle score.
Cambridge took third overall (369) among 14 teams as Cameron Hagedorn tied for 11th place with a round of 91.
Ethan Sides (96) and Brandon Howart (110) delivered those other top Trojan scores.
Amherst (379) and Elm Creek (382) reached the top five teams ahead of Alma (391).
Host Bertrand totaled 411 for eighth place.
