OBERLIN, Kan. — Ron Temple, 83, of Oberlin, formerly of Norcatur, Kan., died Monday (April 30, 2018), at Good Samaritan Society-Decatur County of Oberlin.

He was born July 1, 1934, on a farm near Norcatur in Norton County to Gerald and Marguerite (Mapes) Temple. He graduated from Norcatur High School and Fort Hays State University with a bachelor of arts in history.

He married Geraldine “Jerry” Peters on Nov. 12, 1953. They farmed north of Norcatur. He also taught school and coached.

He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Norton and National Farmers Organization.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Lisa Rhodes

Survivors include his wife, Jerry Temple of Norcatur; children, Marcia Wyrens of Lincoln, Neb., Suzanne Cahoj (Larry) of Atwood,Kan., and Tracey Hartzog (Scott) of Norcatur; son-in-law, Jerry Rhodes of Norcatur; brother, Don Temple (Janet) of Carson City, Nev.; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services are Friday, May 4, 2018, at 2:30 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church in Norton with the Revs. Dennis Gillhousen and Jerry Jones officiating. A private family inurnment will take place in Shirley Bell Cemetery.
