Parker-Hannifin opens 'Fun with Hose' scholarship contest
McCOOK, Neb. — McCook High seniors will have the opportunity to test their engineering skills in the Fun With Hose competition sponsored by Parker Hannifin’s McCook plant.
Students will receive a $40 kit from Parker that includes multiple types of hose, yarn and safety equipment.
They may purchase additional material of no more than $20 to create something unique.
“We want to spark interest for STEM programs, creativity and thinking outside the box,” said Chris Rutt, HR manager. “Students can make anything they want. The only requirement is that it has a purpose and a use.”
In June, participants will display their projects for the public to view. Parker’s HPT (High-Performance Team) will select three winners who will receive a $500 scholarship.
Employees will have the opportunity to vote on awards for participants not in the top three.
Rutt will discuss the competition to students when they tour the plant April 4. For questions or more information, please email Rutt at christopher.rutt@ parker.com
