OBERLIN, Kan. — Gus H. Wolters, 88, died Wednesday (Nov. 29, 2017), at Decatur Health Systems in Oberlin,

He was born Oct. 11, 1929, in Ludell, Kan., to Gustav J. and Bertha (Castens) Wolters. He grew up on farm near Ludell. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-54.

He married Elsie L. Roberts on Feb. 14, 1955. He retired as a farmer and was owner of Wolters Electric.

He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.

He was preceded in death by parents, Gustav J. and Bertha (Castens) Wolters; daughter, Teresa Wolters; two brothers, Henry and Herman "Pete" Wolters; and two sisters, Marge Mishler and Dorothy Wolters.

Survivors include his wife, Elsie of Oberlin; children, Tim (Barbara) Wolters of Ludell and Rebekah (Fernando) Pena of Wichita, Kan.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m. and Friday after 8 a.m. at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin.

Services are Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, 11 a.m. at Pauls Funeral Home with the Rev. Shelly Holle officiating. Interment is at the Fairveiw Cemetery in Atwood, Kan.
