Kirkwood commands McCook

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — A 32-point second quarter sparked the Kirkwood College women past McCook Community College, 94-36, Friday evening.

MCC (0-5 record) stayed within 19-11 through the first quarter of this Kirkwood Classic Tournament.

However, the hosts heated up for a 51-19 halftime lead which reached 74-27 through three periods.

Sophomore Colby Cox, freshman Sam Hinkle and Aliyah Foote finished with six points each for the Indians.

Hinkle hit two of her five three-point attempts.

Makayla Jones made two of her three shots for five points total.

Julianna Rosado added four points while Brook Jamison, Anna Sanjuan, Brook Jamison and FayeLee Sanford tallied two points each.

Rosado, Jamison, Enloe and Jones each collected four rebounds.

There were seven Indians who delivered one assist each.

The Indians dropped a 72-43 decision to Southeeastern (Iowa) College on Saturday. No other details were obtained.
