TRENTON, Neb. — Domineke Perkins, and Nov. 6, Isabell Sheets, Trenton, Neb., residents, enlisted into the Nebraska Army National Guard. Both of their chosen MOS’s (Military Occupational Specialty) were 68W, Health Care Specialist. They will be serving with the 313th Medical Company in Lincoln, Neb., while attending college, after completing their initial training. In addition to the National Guard’s tuition assistance programs paying for their college tuition expenses, they will also be receiving additional education benefits from the VA, essentially putting extra money in their pockets while they attend college.

Beginning in May, Perkins and Sheets will be attending Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Okla., followed by Advanced Individual Training, at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

When asked why they decided to join, they both had the motivations to serve their country and get additional medical training to help them in their careers. “It’s an honor to serve in the National Guard,” Sheets added.
