LINCOLN - Lyle A O’Hare, aged 100 years, two months and five days, passed away in his Lincoln, Neb. home, August 23, 2017. He was born to Frank and Lucy (Brown) O’Hare June 18, 1917, in Danbury, Neb. He married Elaine Barth October 4, 1947.
He worked in ship yards, building dams, cut hay with horses in Idaho, logged in Calif., excelled as a master carpenter, owned his own construction company, rode the rails scouring the country for work during the Depression, owned and piloted an airplane, served in the United States Army 1942-1945, helped his wife raise three boys and wrote poetry.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine. Survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Mary O’Hare, Raymond, John and Omina O’Hare, Lincoln, Rich and Roxann O’Hare, Raymond; brother-in-law, Jack Hudkins, Waverly, Neb.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Dad, we love you. You made a good start on your second 100 years. You will always be with us in the radiance of your smile, your subtle humor and life long can do attitude.
